Hi, lunch!

Today's most definitely a Hale & Hearty soup day.

The NEW Frappuccino.

Starbucks just recently unveiled a new version of its Frappuccino drink. My boyfriend doesn't like it as much as the old recipe, but I have yet to try it.

BAD NEWS: Starbucks discontinued its Pike Place promotion, where a tall coffee was $1.63. It's now back up to its regular price of $1.85.

GOOD NEWS: Starbucks unveiled a new Frappuccino promotion, where during happy hour, the specialty drink is half price! This comes at the perfect time, since summer is right around the corner and Frappuccinos often act as my mid-afternoon snack.

I hate my nose sometimes.

Why must there be an amazing-smelling bakery right next to my office? Is it really necessary to tempt me every morning at 8am? My willpower isn't strong that early!

Hence the big fat cinnamon bun that's currently sitting on my desk. Not cool.

Is it bad to eat the entire box?

I only have one thing to do today, work-wise, so I'm trying my best to space it out that way I'm not bored the entire day. Who am I kidding. Currently I'm snacking on a box of Puffins. I love puffins, both the cereal and the bird.

Being bored at work is a serious issue. It produces the need the eat constantly, all the time, as a way of filling the void of having nothing to do. So I eat and then eat some more. Luckily the entire box of Puffins is only 11 Weight Watcher points (I used to be on WW back in the day and still know the point value of some foods). This is reassuring, considering I have the feeling that this box will be finished by 5pm today. Oh man.

Lunch time in the office.

I'm a sucker for the frozen meal. Especially living in New York City, food is SUPER expensive. A chopped salad can run you upwards of $12. Even a Subway sandwhich (complete with chips and a drink) is in the $6 range.
I try not to eat processed foods every day, but I'll admit to having a frozen meal multiple times a week.

The above Lean Cuisine Five Cheese Rigatoni is my absolute favorite. Other winners include:

Smart Ones Fettucini Alfredo
Smart Ones Three Cheese Ziti Marinara
Lean Cuisine Delux French Bread Pizza
Lean Cuisine Santa Fe-Style Rice & Beans

Cupcakes at work!

The one good thing that came out of my day! Gotta love when there's
a special occasion at the office. Never met a cupcake I didn't like. These amazing treats came from Magnolia Bakery.

I hope waffle fries are considered a healthy lunch...

...because I accidentally just ate 20 of them. Woops. It's not my fault - my friend who sits in the cube next to me got a barbeque chicken wrap for lunch, with french fries, and the smell was intoxicating!

This really was not a good idea considering I plan on having a bag of Fritos later to celebrate their start as "The Official Snack of Minor League Baseball." Give it up for the chip!

[Update: 4:18pm]
I'm sitting at my desk eating an apple and regretting the fries I ate for "lunch." Had I not downed 10 pounds of grease earlier, I could be enjoying a different snack right now! And, note to everyone out there, plastic knives do NOT cut through apples. They just help make a mess.

Was it really necessary to come back?

My plane arrived at LaGuardia Airport at midnight this morning, and I was in bed by 2:00, asleep by... 3:00? And of course I was up at my usual time of 7:00am so I could arrive to work before everyone. Seriously, what's wrong with me?

However, to get me through what I'm sure is going to be a rough day, I decided to get a Red Eye at Starbucks - coffee with a shot of espresso (black). Seemed appropriate since I'm on barely any sleep after a great vacation.

Oh Starbucks, how I love you.

Ever wonder what a Minstrel was?

Yeah, me either. But somehow I can't fathom how I ever lived life not knowing Minstrels existed. A coworker of mine, whose husband is British, brought these little chocolate drops of heaven back with him from London. They best resemble an M&M, only larger, and more delicious. Now all I have to do is find where they're sold in the U.S. Would I be crazy to have them shipped transatlantic?

Hi, lunch!

Cruel.

This made me very, very happy... and then very, very sad.

Back to the grind...

Happy Monday, everyone! I, for one, wish I was was still in bed. Possibly watching The Today Show or Saved by the Bell. Just saying.

How was your weekend? Mine was wonderful. Beautiful weather. Great time with friends. Productive Sunday. And I can't forget about the big breaking of Passover with none other than one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had...

Out at 1!

The rumors were true and it's been confirmed... we get to leave at 1pm today! It's such a beautiful day out and I can't wait to walk home. And, I can't wait for the weekend! What are you all up to? Here's what I have going on:

-The premiere of CBS' new medical drama, Miami Medical
-The Last Song tonight with some friends (yes, I see movies a lot and yes, I love Miley Cyrus... and the Disney Channel, not gonna lie)
-Saturday morning Passover breakfast at PJ Bernstein's to have the best matzoh brie, second only to Nate 'n Al's
-Dinner at Otto on Saturday night (my world tends to revolved around food)
-Out with my boy and friends on Saturday night (hopefully somewhere outside, since it's supposed to be so beautiful out!)

I hope you all enjoy your weekend! See you bright and early Monday morning.
